Jennifer graduated with her bachelor's degree from William Carey College in 1994. She completed her master’s degree in clinical psychology at the University of Houston – Clear Lake in 1997. Licensed as a Professional Counselor since 1998 and a Registered Play Therapist, Jennifer brings decades of experience from a variety of mental health settings. She has extensive training in trauma informed care, school based and county based mental health. Jennifer has worked with children of all ages in a private practice setting as well as the school setting. She has also worked for domestic violence and women's shelters and with juvenile offenders who are incarcerated. She has extensive psychiatric knowledge and has worked with many providers in the area to collaboratively treat clients. Jennifer has years of personal and professional experience working with athletes and sports psychology. In addition, she has vast knowledge and experience, via RPT, with working with medical trauma and complex diagnoses of children. Jennifer is a certified mediator in the state of Texas and is certified to perform critical incident stress event evaluations. Jennifer works with clients of all ages, beginning at age 3 and up. She is a member of the Association for Play Therapy, American Counseling Association, and the Texas Counseling

Treatment Modalities

Jennifer uses an eclectic approach, drawing from a multitude of modalities to tailor treatment to every client’s unique needs. Jennifer often uses evidence-based approaches including DBT, ACT, solution focused brief therapy, trauma focused care, family systems, somatic awareness/healing, and play therapy. Play therapy adds a valuable tool to her therapeutic repertoire, allowing for connection with children in their natural language. Having the skills and training to meet children where they are is crucial when integrating successful outcomes.
